Celebrating Bessie Head

On the 7th and 8th of July, Wrap celebrated the 70th anniversary of Botswanan author Bessie Head, with two short solo performances back to back.

Each of these performances showed a different interpretation of Heads novel, Summer Sun. These performances were created by “The In The Kitchen Theatre” and “Underberg herbgirl dancegarden” respectively – although it was the later who actually showed the work in the kitchen. A video-version of these works is also being shown under a large program of celebrative works and activities in Serowe, Botswana. Both these works, as well as the video versions were created at Wrap!
