Sir Global Rights Went Alright

Global Premier

Sir Global Rights and His Wireless Crew (Studio USF, 20/10/2007)

Leo Prestons new theatre piece, Sir Global Rights and His Wireless Crew, which includes two performers from Mali and a four-piece band, as well as himself and Veronica Thorseth (both of whom co-run Wrap) had a very successfull premier after a long, troublesome and precarious production period.

After hours of international telephone calls and faxes, four changes of outward-bound ticket dates and over a hundred e-mails, Abdulaye Sidibe and Safiatou Sangaré were finaly able to make it to Bergen in time for just less than four weeks pieceing together and rehearsing the show at Wrap.

The first two and a half weeks with Abdulaye and Safiatou were spent in the dance studio, while the last half of the period was spent in the venue space downstairs, with the band and video projections set up. Leo set-up a little editing suite in the corner where we often have the bar at Wrap, and continued to edit video and music (even making some new recordings) between rehearsals.

You can read a norwegian review of Sir Global Rights and His Wireless Crew on scenekunst.no by clicking here.

In spite of the fact that both Leo and Veronica have been so occupied with Sir Global Rights and His Wiresless Crew (as well as even more recent performances and concerts with other groups) our Sunday training sessions have started successfully, and there has been continued activity in the darkroom (both with super 8, and photo).
